Why Simi Valley Families Choose 805.

-
One Mat. One Schedule.

-
Parents Train Free With Their Kids
Get on the mat alongside your child at no extra cost. The fastest way to keep a kid in martial arts is to train with them.
-
A Drama-Free Family Room
805 is a warm, family-style community. Train smart, stay humble. You will feel it the first time you walk in.
How Family Training Works at 805.
Everyone in your household has their own class and their own progression. Your 5-year-old trains in Kids BJJ, your 9-year-old in Youth BJJ, and you in the adult BJJ or Muay Thai classes. Separate classes, shared mat, growth that happens together.
This is not one combined parent-and-kid class. It is a roster of age-appropriate programs running on overlapping schedules, so many families coordinate to be on the mat the same evening. And because parents can train free alongside their enrolled kids, "family activity" is literal here.
Classes That Fit a Busy Simi Valley Week.
How Family Nights Work
The late-afternoon and evening blocks stack kids and adult classes close together, so one trip to the mat covers the whole family. Check the full schedule for the current week, or call (805) 263-1553 and we will tell you which nights line up for your family.
Same Place. Same Night.
Coordinate class times so the whole family is at the mat on one evening. One drive in, multiple classes, one drive home. And parents are on the mat free, right alongside the kids.
What Members Say
The members who recommend 805 loudest are the ones who have been here longest: parents of kids in the youth program and adults who walked in with zero experience and stayed for the community.

Everything Families Ask Before Signing Up Together.
How young can a kid start?
Age 4, in our Kids BJJ program (4-6). From there it is Youth BJJ (7-12), then the adult classes at 13. Muay Thai is open to kids 6 and up. Every age has its own class.
Can my teen and I train at the same place?
Yes. Teens train in the adult BJJ and Muay Thai classes from age 13, right alongside the adults, often in the same session as you.
Do parents really train free with their kids?
Yes, parents are welcome to train free on the mat alongside their enrolled children. It is one of the things that makes 805 feel like a family room and not just a drop-off.
I have never trained before. Is that okay?
Completely. Beginners are welcome in every adult class, and the room is drama-free by design. Coaches start you exactly where you are.
Does the whole family train in one combined class?
Not one combined class. Each family member trains in their age-appropriate program. Your 5-year-old is in Kids BJJ, your 9-year-old in Youth BJJ, and you in the adult classes. The classes are separate; the mat is shared.
Do we have to come at the same time?
No, but many families line up classes on the same evening so everyone is at the mat together. Call or text (805) 263-1553 and we will help you find the evenings that line up cleanest for your household.
What do we wear?
Comfortable athletic clothes for the free week. Training is barefoot on the mat. No gi needed to start; if you continue, we will fit each member for one.
Is there family pricing?
Parents train free on the mat with their kids, and we are happy to build a plan that fits a multi-member household. Best to sort it in person or by phone: call or text (805) 263-1553 or ask at the front desk during your free week.
How does the free week work for families?
Each family member who wants to train claims their own free week: one full week of unlimited classes, no long-term contract. We will talk through ongoing options at the end of the week.
