Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is the heart of 805 Combat Sports. As an official Carlos Machado academy, we teach gi and no-gi grappling that traces straight through the Machado family to Carlos Gracie. Striking & Fitness

Beyond the grappling, 805 runs Muay Thai kickboxing and dedicated martial-arts fitness. Muay Thai is striking and conditioning for kids and adults, the best workout in the building. Fitness is mobility, core movement, and conditioning open to anyone age 6 and up, with or without a martial arts background. Many members stack one of these on top of their BJJ.

  • This is gym is so good! The coaches here are very patient and understanding with the kids. It is so hard to find a place that takes the time to educate and train my son, we're so glad we found this gym! 100% recommend!

  • I recently enrolled my son, and he absolutely loves the training and the coaches, Josh and Chris. The coaches have so much patience, and make the class so fun. Abdiel looks forward to this after school activity every day. Thank you for teaching him self defense and confidence training he loves.

  • I started here with zero experience in BJJ. Coaches were patient and I never felt out of place. All the members are super nice and take it super easy on beginners. The goal is always to learn and get better. I have found myself loving BJJ and really excited to keep training here.

  • I started here with zero bjj experience and have really enjoyed the great balance of patience and challenge the instructors and more experienced students provide. Everyone here is invested in making their fellow students better, which creates a great learning experience. Thank you Josh, Ric, and Jacob!!

  • Place is great, coaches strive to work with everybody individually and always teach us lots while still letting us have time to roll. Good schedule for classes and tidy mats as well!

Help Me Choose

Questions About Finding the Right Fit.

Which program should my child start in?

Ages 4 to 6 start in Kids BJJ, built for the youngest grapplers. Ages 7 to 12 move into Youth BJJ. We also run Muay Thai for kids 6 and up. All of them are beginner programs, no experience needed.

Can I train more than one program?

Yes. Plenty of members train both Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Muay Thai for the full stand-up-and-ground picture, and the two together are bundled at a discount. We usually suggest getting a solid base in one before adding the other.

BJJ or Muay Thai: which should I pick?

BJJ is grappling: control, leverage, and ground-game self-defense that works regardless of size. Muay Thai is striking: punches, kicks, knees, elbows, and a serious workout. Both are beginner friendly. If you are unsure, your trial class is the easiest way to try each.

Do you have classes for women?

We don't run a separate women-only class, and for self-defense that is a feature: you train alongside partners of every size, which is exactly the gap a real situation hands you. The room is no-ego and beginners are protected, so it is welcoming from day one. Women's BJJ is that self-defense focus inside our regular classes.

Are programs sorted by age or skill?

Primarily by age, because what works for a five-year-old is not what works for an adult. Within each class, instruction is calibrated per student, so beginners are never expected to keep up with the most experienced person on the mat.

How does the trial class work?

It is one full hour on the mat for $59.99. Pick a start date, show up, and train as many classes as you want across the week. No long-term contract to try it.

No Experience Required

The Best Way to Choose Is to Try One.

Pick a program, pick a class time, and book your trial class. Decide from there, no pressure.
